Downieville is a small town on route 49 in Northern California, gold rush country and holds a very interesting race, one that I have wanted to do for some time now. It's a stage race which is held over two days, Saturday is Cross Country day and Sunday is downhill day, the the rules say it must be on the same bike and with the same setup and weight.

FORT WILLIAM DOWNHILL WORLD CUP INTRO
If there are any Mountain Bikers out there who have not experienced the atmosphere of the Fort William Downhill World Cup you really do not know what you are missing. It is happening this weekend from Friday until Sunday and some of the biggest names in MTB are going to be in attendance.
Santa Cruz have their complete new bike range on show for all to see and the DH team expect to do well.
It really needs to be on any self respecting Mountain Bikers bucket list and there hasn't been a better time to do it, here's a short video of what it's about FUN AT THE FORT. See you there!
